How Cute Is That Baby In The Window?

One of Madeline and Eli's favorite things to do lately is to stand in one of our armchairs and look out the front window. We have tons of amazing things going on in our front yard: the dog running around, birds flying into the window, squirrels trying to ruin our landscaping. So, you can imagine why this new pastime is so exciting, as Madeline demonstrates below...

Don't Drink the Water

Madeline and Eli have been able to sit up on their own for quite a while now, but they've been bathing on their backs one at a time because the tub is so slippery. I finally went out this week to buy a mat for it so they could sit together in the bathtub. It was a hit...

However, the next time we bathed M&E, Eli decided to dive face first into the water and wasn't very pleased with the results. He shook it off though. These babies definitely have some Redmon in them. They love the water!

Happy Easter!

BFF

Madeline and Eli have really started interacting a lot lately. They are so cute to watch! Unfortunately, it's hard to get them playing together on video because Mommy and the camera are VERY distracting to them. Here is a clip of Eli being entertained by his big sister...

The other day I was cleaning the house while M & E played and when I came to check on them, Eli had his head in Madeline's lap and she was stroking his hair. I could just eat them up!

Stylin' and Profilin'

Today was a momentous day... I actually dressed Madeline and Eli in real clothes, complete with the adorable shoes their Mama Kaye bought them. I decided yesterday that it was just getting too warm to be running around in footie pajamas, so we made a trip to the Carter's outlet for onesies and pants. I've got to say though, it takes FOREVER to get both children dressed to go out now, but they look darn cute once I'm finished. Don't you think?

Destination: Gulf Coast

We have officially booked our first beach trip for 2008. We are so excited about playing with our friends Ben, Lauren and Jackson Harris in May! Madeline and Eli's friend Jackson was so sweet to send them each a bathing suit in preparation for the fun. We had a modeling session last night...

Madeline Has a Bad Night

Poor Little Bitty. It's amazing how she continues to look so cute, even while throwing her fit.

Mommy's Vacation Day

We woke up to snow in Birmingham yet again this morning. We've had at least 4 good snows here this winter, which is just amazing. The two things I miss most from Virginia are the mountains and the snow, so one out of two's not bad. That being said, it is now March and time to trade the jackets in for flip flops - enough snow.

I read an article not too long ago that assigned a salary to all of the different tasks for which a stay-at-home mom is responsible. I think the number was somewhere around $138,000. Sounds about right to me. As far as I'm concerned I have the best job in the world. However, I work hard for every penny of my nonexistent salary and therefore, I am exhausted! So, today I took a day off. That's right, today Daddy was in charge...

After nursing the babies when they woke up at 6:00, I was able to go back to sleep until 9:00. It was fabulous! Then, I headed out to run some errands, co-hosted a baby shower for my friend Holly and did some shopping at Target, all sans-babies. At the end of the day, I was very happy to see Madeline and Eli, and Brandon was even happier to see me. It is nice to get out on my own every now and then and sweet of Brandon to give me a break.

So Blessed

Madeline and Eli are such a joy!!

"Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them."

Spring Fever

Spring is right around the corner and we are getting a taste of it today. What a beautiful day - around 76 degrees and sunny and breezy! I have spring fever for sure, and Madeline and Eli are catching it too. We spent an hour outside swinging and it was so beautiful that I moved the high chairs onto the porch so M and E could dine al fresco for lunch. (Incidentally, this gave me a great opportunity to mop the apple juice and sweet potato residue off the floors in the kitchen - which looks huge and empty without two high chairs in it.)

Yesterday was another gorgeous day, and we decided to take advantage of it and go for a long family walk. There is a great walking trail right down the street from our house, so we loaded up Madeline and Eli and the jogging stroller and took off. It started out great... spending quality time together, getting some exercise, enjoying the fresh air. As always, M and E were in their pajamas. I unsnapped the bottoms though so their little legs and feet could air out. They felt great! They were talking and playing with their toes and having an all around great time - for now. Three miles into the walk, we decided to turn around and head back towards the car. That's when the trouble began. Unfortunately, the sun visor on our jogging stroller does not swing forward completely and poor little M and E had the sun right in their faces, so they were blinded and getting hot and sweaty - not a good combo. Long story short, Brandon and I ended up carrying two (now naked and screaming) babies all the way back to the car with our stroller in tow. I'm sure we looked like parents of the year! And, once again, I wish I had my camera with me.
