Festing and Fabrication

Brandon and I took M&E to StadiumFest (http://www.stadiumfest.org/) on Saturday. Here we are arriving with our own little rockstars.

And, here we are on the big inflatable slide. Let me tell you, it was a workout to carry two children up a staircase supported by air in 90 degree temps... we only went down once.

The music and testimonies were awesome. Unfortunately I ended up spending most of my time there in line for water and Powerade. Did I mention it was HOT? I was seriously in line for an hour and forty-five minutes, which caused my poor husband some worry.

Speaking of this man...

He is a hard worker and has a tender heart and I love him very much.

He also has a very faithful assistant lately...

The sub-floor is down in the new bedroom but I don't really have anything to show you yet. I promise to post pictures when we have something to show.

Pain and Sacrifice

We are starting to feel that Alabama heat and that means we have been outside - a lot. We love the heat. Spending so much time outside does come with a risk though and I'm not talking about heat stroke (it's just April still). It seems M&E cannot step outside without taking a tumble. Example: Madeline's legs...

This week I have purchased and sacrificed a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses. Immediately after purchasing them I began to feel buyer's remorse. So, I am returning them tomorrow. In their place I got a pair from Target for $14.99. I also bought these...

Yes, those are frog potties. It's potty time! No um... deposits as of yet but M&E have only been on them once so far.

I also got this...

A water table. I think it was a good purchase. Eli agrees. (And, yes he very badly needs a haircut.)

Easter 2009

Brandon took Madeline and Eli to Newnan for a visit with family on Saturday and I enjoyed a day off (complete with pedicure), but we enjoyed our Easter Sunday together at home in Birmingham. We took a quick photo before church. Brandon's head is cut off because the camera was set up on the hood of the car and he had to press the button, grab Eli and run to his position (and we were precariously close to being late to church). All things considered, I think it turned out pretty well.

After church, we headed down to Johnny and Susan's farm. As always, Susan was the hostess with the mostess and we stuffed ourselves with a delicious meal. M&E couldn't stop for a nap all day; they were too busy riding the tractor, Polaris and golf cart and feeding the fish, ducks and geese. I'm afraid they might start asking to go out there once a week!

Another Sunny Day, Another Construction Accomplishment

We have paint! Outside, at least and one more coat to go. Doesn't it look like it's always been there?

The electricians were here all day today, too and will be back in the morning, so we also (almost) have lights. Next stop, plumbing.

Eli took his sister for a spin in the truck yesterday. We start 'em early here in Alabama.

Progress Report

Madeline, Eli and I enjoyed a visit with Mama Kaye this weekend so Brandon could work full-time on the addition. He claims he can barely move today. This is why...

Yep, he's a stud.

The Walls Went Up

It rained yesterday... a lot, so there was no framing. Today however, was a different story.

The hallway leading into the new bedroom:

There will be a door into the actual room.

From the backyard:

The window you see inside of all of that will be moved out into that framed opening in the bedroom. The bathroom and closet will be on the right.

One reason the crew was so productive? They had a great little helper (complete with work gloves):

Tomorrow's weather report calls for strong winds, large hail and possible tornadoes. I pray we don't have any leaks before the roof goes on!
